OLX is not a marketplace but a classifieds board — and you have to act differently there

The most common mistake is to put the same catalog on OLX with the same wording as on Rozetka and expect a similar result. But people do not come there for the brand or the product card: they look for a cheaper option, compare you with private sellers and write in the chat instead of clicking “buy”. Listing the catalog automatically can and should be done. But first it is worth understanding whose rules you are playing by.

What's included

Complete list of work and what you get as a result

  • an export file from your catalog in the format the platform accepts
  • mapping of your categories to the platform's categories — without it some products simply will not get through
  • scheduled updates of prices and availability, not a one-off listing
  • a rule for which products do not go there: exclusives, scarce items, agreements with suppliers
  • clear handling of rejected listings — with a reason, not a silent disappearance
  • reconciling what was actually listed with what should have been: there is always a discrepancy
  • titles and descriptions suited to the board rather than copied from the product card
  • handover with a description of how to change the rules without us
When this service isn't right

What's not included — so there are no surprises at delivery

  • paying for listing packages and listing promotion — these are your costs paid directly to the platform
  • a guarantee that all listings will pass moderation
  • communicating with buyers in the platform's chat
  • promises about the number of sales from the platform
  • circumventing the platform's limits on the number of listings
Who it's for

Situations where this service delivers results

Scenario 1 of 4

A store with products people look for on the board

Everyday, inexpensive goods that need no explanation. Here OLX brings turnover your own website does not, simply because people visit it more often.

We'll review your situation in a free audit
Free catalog review

We check whether your products fit this platform and how many items make sense to list there at all.

What we measure

  1. Whether people look for your products thereThe main question, and it is not a technical one. Complex equipment and narrow specializations are rarely searched for on the board — demand works differently there.
  2. How your categories map to the platform'sThe platform has its own category tree, and it does not match yours. The worse the match, the more manual mapping work.
  3. How many items make senseListing the whole catalog is rarely worthwhile: listing packages are limited, and half the items have no demand there.
  4. Where availability data comes fromA listing for a product you do not have is the fastest way to damage your seller rating. You need a reliable source of quantities.
  5. Whether prices will be the sameOn the board, buyers compare you with private sellers and haggle. This affects both the price and how the title should be written.
  6. Who will answer in the chatCommunication there is mostly by message and fast. If nobody is there to reply, the listing will not work, and we will say so plainly.

What you get

  • an answer on whether your products are in demand on the board
  • an estimate of how many items are worth listing
  • an estimate of the work broken down by stage
  • an honest answer if the platform is not right for you

Timeline: 2–4 working days

Why is it free

Half the answer depends not on technology but on whether people search for your products on the board at all. This becomes clear within a few days, and there is no point in selling an export where there is no demand.

What's next

You get an estimate and a list. Then you decide for yourself — the document stays with you.

What affects the price

Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently

  • How your categories match the platform'sThe main factor. If your tree maps onto theirs unambiguously, the work is technical. If not, the mapping has to be built by hand.
  • Number of itemsA hundred products and several thousand differ not in the file but in the amount of reconciliation: what exactly was listed has to be checked for every item.
  • State of titles and descriptionsThose copied from the product card perform poorly. Bringing them into a form suited to the board is separate work, often the largest part.
  • Availability data sourceIf there is a reliable quantity, updates run on it. If not, this has to be solved first — otherwise the listings will be misleading.
  • Update frequencyOnce a day is simpler and cheaper. More often is a matter of the platform's limits, not our preference.
  • Different pricesOne price everywhere is simple. A separate price for the board means a rule that someone has to maintain with every change on the website.

Dr. IGEL

a brand of natural spices and seasonings with its own online store

Task
Sell a spice brand's range online: blends for different dishes, single spices, seasonings for meat and fish, spices for baking — with a recipe section and spice selection by type of dish.
Solution
An online store on OpenCart. Payment via PrivatBank, monobank, cash on delivery and by invoice; delivery by Nova Poshta, Ukrposhta and pickup. Analytics and advertising: Google Tag Manager, GA4, an OLX feed, messengers and social networks. GroceryStore structured data with the address, coordinates and opening hours. Two language versions, uk/ru; Google PageSpeed Module is enabled on the server.
Result
As of 31 July 2026 the store is live (HTTP 200, HTTPS): about 580 product pages (590 unique URLs in the sitemap), the first server response takes 428 ms and the full HTML loads in 488 ms; the payment and delivery page lists 4 payment methods (PrivatBank, monobank, cash on delivery, invoice) and 3 delivery methods (Nova Poshta, Ukrposhta, pickup); GroceryStore markup with the address, coordinates and opening hours is in place, and GTM and GA4 are connected.

Process steps

Transparent stages with approval at every step

Total duration:10–30 days

  1. Reviewing demand and the catalog

    2–4 working days

We check whether people look for your products on the board and how many items make sense to list. This is often where it turns out the whole catalog is not needed.

  2. Category mapping

    2–6 working days

We build a map of which platform category each of your categories goes into. The most tedious stage, and at the same time the one that decides whether the export gets through.

  3. Export file

    3–8 working days

We build an export from your catalog in the required format, with titles and descriptions suited specifically to the board.

  4. First placement and reconciliation

    2–5 working days

We list the items and compare what actually appeared with what should have. There is always a discrepancy, and this is where it shows up.

  5. Scheduled updates

    2–6 working days

We set up regular updates of prices and availability, and handling of rejected listings — with a reason, not a silent disappearance.

  6. Handover

    1–2 working days

We show you how to change the product list and the rules yourselves. After that, a 30-day warranty applies from the date the acceptance act is signed.

What we need from you

We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance

  1. the store's account on the platform and its type
  2. which categories you plan to list and why those in particular
  3. where reliable product availability data comes from
  4. whether prices on the platform will be the same as on the website
  5. who will answer buyers in the platform's chat
  6. who on your side accepts the work
If something is missing — let us know, we'll help you gather it or do it as a separate task.
FAQ

Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers

How is OLX different from a marketplace?

It is a classifieds board. There is no single product card with reviews, and the buyer compares you with private sellers and expects messaging and haggling. That is why copying the description from your own product card usually does not work there: you need shorter titles and a different presentation.

Is it worth listing the whole catalog?

Rarely. Listing packages are limited in number, and demand on the board is uneven: some items are simply not searched for there. It is wiser to list the fast-moving categories, look at the inquiries and expand based on actual results, rather than paying for thousands of listings at random.

Why do listings get rejected?

Most often because of a category mismatch, duplicates of similar items or prohibited wording in the text. Some reasons are visible right away, others only in practice. We make sure a rejection is shown with its reason, rather than the listing simply disappearing.

How often are prices and availability updated?

Usually once a day — a compromise between freshness and the platform's limits. Instant updates do not happen here, so for very scarce products you either need to keep a buffer or not list them at all.

Do you pay for listing packages?

No, those are your costs paid directly to the platform, and we do not earn from them. Our part is to make sure the listed items are up to date and pass moderation. How much to pay for a package is a decision you make yourself once you see the return.

Who will answer buyers?

You do. Communication there mostly happens in the platform's chat and is fast: people message several sellers at once and buy from whoever replies first. If nobody is there to reply, the listing will not work — and it is more honest to agree on this before the work starts.

How long does it take?

10 to 30 working days. The export file itself is quick to build; the time goes into category mapping and bringing titles into a form that suits the board. If the catalog is large, checking the first placement also takes a few days.

How many sales will this bring?

We do not know and do not promise. It depends on the price, the niche and how quickly you reply in the chat. What we can say: managing listings by hand does not work for a catalog of any significant size — they go out of date faster than anyone can edit them.

  • We work under a contract

There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
