Promoting a furniture store: the decision takes weeks, and the site has to hold up through several return visits

Nobody buys furniture on the first visit. People find a model, measure the space at home, compare with other stores, ask for advice — and come back a week later. So in this niche what matters is not a one-off ranking but how easy it is to come back: whether the same model can be found again, whether the dimensions are there, whether availability is visible. We work on the catalog so that it holds up along this long path and is visible for the searches people actually use to find furniture.

Free catalog audit

We look at the technical state of the catalog and at which searches you realistically stand a chance on.

What we measure

  1. How many pages are indexed versus the actual catalogIn furniture catalogs the gap is usually big: filters spawn duplicates, and some products never make it into the index at all.
  2. Do filters create duplicatesSize, material and color in combination produce thousands of nearly identical URLs. Without canonical URLs they compete with each other.
  3. Speed of categories with photosFurniture sells through images, and they are what makes pages heavy. This affects both people and how the site is crawled.
  4. Are dimensions stored as dataWidth, depth and height as fields give you a filter and pages for size-based searches. As text in a description they barely exist for search.
  5. Availability and lead timesA made-to-order item with no stated lead time is a source of cancellations. For search, it is also a signal of page quality.
  6. What you are found for nowWe look at real searches: it often turns out that a few categories work and the rest of the catalog is invisible.

What you get

  • the catalog's indexing status in figures
  • a list of technical problems by priority
  • an assessment of which groups of searches are realistically winnable
  • an estimate of the work broken down by stage

Timeline: 4–7 working days

Why is it free

In a large catalog half the problems are technical and visible only on inspection. Quoting a price before then would be guesswork.

What's next

You get the list and the estimate. Then you decide for yourself — the document stays with you.

What affects the price

Why two seemingly identical tasks are priced differently

  • Catalog sizeA few hundred items is manageable work. Thousands of products with filters mean separate work on indexing and duplicates.
  • State of the filtersIf filters create URLs without canonical ones, this has to be sorted out first. It is the most common technical problem in the niche.
  • Whether dimensions are stored as fieldsDimensions as data open up a whole layer of searches. If they only sit in descriptions, they first need to be broken out into fields — a separate stage.
  • Number of categories needing textsA category text should help people choose, not take up space. Such a text takes longer to write than a template one, and that is exactly why it works.
  • Made-to-order productsThis is a more rewarding space with less competition, but it needs separate pages and honest production times.
  • Image weightIn a furniture catalog this is not cosmetic: heavy pages get crawled worse and lose people on mobile.
Who it's for

Situations where this service delivers results

Scenario 1 of 4

A store with a showroom and a website

Some buyers visit the showroom after the website, others the other way round. Search has to bring in both, and the site must not contradict what people see in the showroom.

We'll review your situation in a free audit
What's included

Complete list of work and what you get as a result

  • category pages with texts that help people choose rather than take up space
  • filter work: size, material, color without creating thousands of duplicates
  • pages for searches with dimensions and purpose: “2-meter living room sofa”
  • product markup: price, availability, specifications as data
  • speed of a catalog with a large number of images
  • made-to-order items: the production time is visible before the inquiry
  • connecting the showroom with the site: address, hours, local markup
  • a monthly report: what was done, what changed in the figures, what did not work
  • an honest assessment of which searches are not worth fighting for
When this service isn't right

What's not included — so there are no surprises at delivery

  • guarantees of search positions
  • furniture photography and three-dimensional renderings
  • showroom, delivery and assembly operations
  • competing with big chains for the most generic searches
  • writing descriptions for the whole catalog without your involvement
Process steps

Transparent stages with approval at every step

Total duration:60–240 days

  1. Catalog audit

    4–7 working days

We look at indexing, filter duplicates, speed and real searches. We build a picture of where there is room and where competing is pointless.

  2. Technical work

    10–30 working days

Canonical URLs for filters, the sitemap, indexing, speed of image-heavy categories. This comes first.

  3. Catalog data

    10–30 working days

We move dimensions and materials into fields, add product markup with price and availability, and set out lead times for made-to-order items.

  4. Category texts

    15–45 working days

We write texts that help people choose: what to look at, how to measure, how materials differ. No filler and no retelling of specifications.

  5. Pages for size-based searches

    10–30 working days

We build pages for the buyer's specific tasks: size, purpose, room. Competition here is lower than in categories.

  6. Monitoring and reporting

    monthly

Every month we review indexing, visibility and behavior, show what worked and what did not, and adjust the plan.

Tasks and results in numbers — all metrics measured by us

a sample of 4 Ukrainian websites in the “furniture” niche

Task
Find out the real state of websites in the furniture niche rather than the state their owners describe: the technical base, measurement and site size.
Solution
An external measurement with no access to anyone else's admin panels: time to first response as the median of several measurements, the catalog from the sitemap with duplicate URLs removed, counters in the homepage HTML, the PHP version from the headers, hreflang, TLS, robots.txt and the canonical URL.
Result
Measured on 17 September 2026: 4 Ukrainian websites in the “furniture” niche were checked. 3 of 4 have no breadcrumb markup; 3 of 4 have no local business markup; 3 of 4 have no canonical URL on the homepage; 2 of 4 answer slower than a second. Median first response time: 711.3 ms; median sitemap size: 93,822 URLs.

What we need from you

We can't start without this — best to prepare in advance

  1. access to the site, Google Search Console and analytics
  2. the catalog with dimensions, materials and availability
  3. whether you make items to order and with what production times
  4. whether you have a showroom people can visit
  5. who on your side can check texts about materials
  6. who accepts the work

FAQ

Most frequently asked questions — with concrete answers

Why do dimensions matter so much in furniture?

Because they are what people actually filter by when choosing: they measure the space at home and look for what will fit. If width and depth sit as text in the description, you can neither filter by them nor build pages for size-based searches — and that is a whole layer of less competitive traffic.

We have thousands of pages generated by filters — is that bad?

Yes, if they are indexed without canonical URLs. Combinations of size, color and material produce nearly identical pages that compete with each other and dilute ranking strength. This has to be sorted out first — it is not the most visible work, but without it the rest does not show.

Do you guarantee rankings?

No. We are responsible for the work: the technical state of the catalog, data, category texts, pages for specific searches. The result depends on competition, and it shows in the monthly report — including what did not work.

Can we realistically outrank the big chains?

For the most generic searches like “buy a sofa”, hardly at all, and we do not advise taking that on. For dimensions, materials and specific tasks the space stays open, because big catalogs rarely handle it well.

How long until we see results?

Longer than in local niches: six months or more. The catalogs are large, the technical part takes time, and the buyer's decision cycle is long in itself — which is why changes in sales show up with a delay.

Who writes the category texts?

We do, but with your input: what to look at when choosing, how materials differ, how to measure — that is your sales staff's knowledge. A text assembled from generic phrases does not work in this niche, because the buyer has already read a dozen of those.

We make furniture to order — is that harder?

It actually works in your favor. Competition for made-to-order searches is lower, and the buyer comes with a specific task. But you need separate pages and honest production times: a promise of “two weeks” that turns into two months costs more than a lost ranking.

Why do we need product markup?

So that search sees the price, availability and specifications as data rather than text. This affects how your page looks in the results and whether the product appears in shopping blocks. For a large catalog the difference is noticeable.

There is no price list on the site on purpose: the same work differs several times over between two clients, and a “from” figure explains nothing in that case. First a free audit — we count your pages, duplicates and speed — then we name the sum and the deadline and fix both in the contract.
